Growth & Justice LukeWorks has partnered with this prominent Minnesota research and advocacy organization to produce a series of papers for their “Workforce Equity for a Competitive Economy” initiative. The four papers in this series address inseparable imperatives: racial equity in employment, economic growth and job creation, and timely, industry-driven skills training.
National Skills Coalition LukeWorks has completed several research and writing projects for this national coalition of nonprofit, labor, business, and education stakeholders focused on federal workforce policy. Most recently, we completed primary and secondary research to analyze intersections in federal policy between workforce and community development. The resulting report, Building Pathways to Employment in America’s Cities through Integrated Workforce and Community Development, was shared with stakeholders around the country and discussed with high-level Cabinet and White House staff.
Minnesota Workforce Inventory Initiated by a coalition of philanthropic funders, LukeWorks partnered with the MN Department of Employment and Economic Development to update and expand an inventory of workforce programs in Minnesota, with a pull-out analysis of Twin Cities metropolitan region investments by both public and philanthropic sources. LukeWorks facilitated the data gathering, drafted a companion analysis to the actual inventory, and prepared presentations for use by philanthropic partners going forward.
Minnesota FastTRAC LukeWorks was instrumental in the early research and writing that led to philanthropic funding from The Joyce Foundation creating this initiative. Called upon for our expertise in workforce and education program design, as well as policy change at the state level, LukeWorks has continued its involvement on the leadership team of this initiative.
