Prior to establishing LukeWorks, LLC, Luke was Executive Director of the Governor’s Workforce Development Council (GWDC) from 2000 to 2005, serving Governors Jesse Ventura and Tim Pawlenty. Previously, Luke held leadership and management positions in nonprofit organizations focused on employment and housing issues in Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia. Luke is a graduate of the Hubert Humphrey Policy Fellows Program at the University of Minnesota, the Evans School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington in Seattle and Haverford College. Kira honed her policy development skills at the state level from the Center on Wisconsin Strategy (COWS) and at the national level from the Coalition on Human Needs, an alliance of national anti-poverty organizations. Kira is an experienced Congressional staffer, handling issues related to welfare, social services, transportation, and the environment for the office of U.S. Representative Tom Barrett. Kira holds a Masters in Public Policy from the American University and a Bachelors from Macalester College. Kira’s resume is here
